Getting Started
By now you've been asked by an employer to complete your application on GradSift. They may have provided some special instructions to include a video, resume, role preferences etc. We will work on the basis you've required to complete all steps.
From My Programs, follow each of the icons. A Red icon indicates this is required. A Blue icon indicates you've completed the step or the employer doesn't require you do this.
Profile
This is mostly selections from drop-down fields.
- Personal information including locations you're prepared to work
- Educational background
- Work experience
- Interests
- Optional information for technical and language skills, gender and diversity. You do not need to complete any of these optional fields. They're used by some employers to help identify applicants with a specific background.
Upload Document
Upload your resume and any other documents requested by the employer.
Link Documents
Choose which documents you want to share with the employer, then Save. (You may have submitted an application for another employer and want to use a different resume).
Preferences
Select up to three role preferences (if offered). If you only have one preference, select that same preference as 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Employer Questions
Answer via drop-down responses (if offered).
Video
Outside of GradSift, self-record a sixty seconds video with an introduction, one or two key achievements and why you’re interested in a career with the employer. (Note, some employers may specify what you should say).
Upload the video to YouTube. Save it as Unlisted and it can only be viewed by people who have access to the URL.
Copy the video URL. Note, for security reasons, GradSift only accepts the URL format that starts with https://youtu.be ... To find your video URL in YouTube, select OPTIONS
Then select GET SHAREABLE LINK
The URL will start with https://youtu.be/ followed by the video ID (11 letters and numbers). This is the URL to paste into GradSift.
If you only see a traditional URL format eg. https://youtube.com/video/(11 letters and numbers), simply add the 11 letters and numbers to the end of https://youtu.be/
Back in GradSift, in My Programs paste the YouTube URL at the video icon.
No YouTube account or need help? Email support@gradsift.com.
Submit
When you're ready, select SUBMIT. You will receive a confirming email from noreply@gradsift.com. This will confirm if you've completed each of the steps required by the employer with Yes/No. If there is a No, you need to log back in and complete that step.
Note, you can save and edit your information as often as you like.
